Ms. Chitra

Ms. Chitra has been working as an educationist with children and young adults for the past 25 years. She has been writing since she was in school. While still in school, she started a sociological journal called Samaajshatreeya Sansad(The Parliament of Sociology). She has done translation work for the Govt. of India in 1988-1990 and wrote content on management for the Indira Gandhi National Open Universities. She has been acclaimed in the academic circle for her psychological insights and profound knowledge of holistic living solutions. With a postgraduate degree, a university topper, in Sociology from Kanpur University, she has authored a wide range of books on sociology and allied subjects. Her books are being widely used as textbooks in Universities in India.

When Chitra started her first project in, it proved to be a tough call from sustenance point of view since the concept was new and they were constrained by the financial limitations. But the kind of response that the project started getting, it was quite easy a road map to make it a paid site. However, she resisted the temptation to make it a paid website since it would have been anti-thesis of giving something back to the society if you charge kids who are interested in the website.

She has headed research teams for DITE (a government of India educational initiative) in an extensive research report covering the Indian states of Bihar and Jharkhand. She has also done research projects.

She is presently heading two companies and one non-governmental organization --Trident Education (content writing, data processing and educational institutions etc), Rit International(web magazines, educational events and educational software development) and Rit Foundation(largely education for the underprivileged) She has also written content for websites, on subjects including education, spirituality, cinema, management and psychology.

However, her main thrust has always been on religion and spirituality. An avid reader of spiritual literature of the Indian tradition, she has translated, edited and authored hidden treasures into different languages from English, Sanskrit and Hindi. Rit International is her maiden business venture. However, she intends to further facilitate the spread of the very same knowledge among the children who are less fortunate to get benefit from the quality education and knowledge. An important endeavor in this direction is her novel project, Shiksha Aapke Dwaar.
