Dr. Chandra Shekhar Mukherjee

Chandra Shekhar Mukherji is a senior medical practitioner and a founder member of CHIP (Children in Pain), a registered charity for children with chapters in Kolkata, Mumbai and Nagpur. CHIP prides itself in innovative educational activities helping impart human values and formal/non-formal learning to needy children in government, balwadi and it’s own schools. Health related and vocational training activities are underpinned by a belief that good health and value-based training which leads to employment are essential for those without privilege and opportunity to effectively contribute to society. In 1990, Dr Mukherji worked with Mother Teresa to resettle over 250 mentally ill female prisoners in the community in Kolkata.

He is a visiting consultant, lecturer and adviser to various public and private institutions in India and the U.K.. His other interests include meditation-brain research, medical journalism and the theatre.
